We are looking for a R&D Engineer Sustaining & Value Engineering in the Product Design & Development team. The engineer is responsible for doing various engineering change projects, mainly on the complex medical electronic equipment of DORC. The scope of these projects can be solving production and quality problems in the design, improving documentation of parts and subassemblies and value analysis & engineering etcetera. Main responsibilities:
- Find solutions for technical problems in cooperation with both suppliers of the parts and other internal departments like Production, Quality Engineering, Purchasing and R&D.
- Align with your colleagues of the Sustaining & Value Engineering team; share knowledge and discuss technical challenges and solutions
- Lead Engineering Change Projects
- Write technical, project, and QMS documentation for the projects
- Participate in Root Cause Analyses investigations
- Report to your team lead and project management
- Coordinate and/or perform First Article Inspection for product changes
- Initiate and contribute to standardization and uniformity of documentation and underlying technical data, in accordance with (medical) standards and guidelines
- Driving continuous improvement of working methods and processes
- Keeping up to date with technical developments and significant changes in relevant standards in the professional field
Skills and qualifications:
- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 7+ years experience in relevant field
- Fluency in Dutch and English
- Experience with 3D drawing software such as Solidworks and making 2D drawings ofparts and assemblies.
- GD&T and tolerance/worst case analysis
- Knowledge of mechatronics and electronics engineering is an advantage
- Knowledge of production methods and materials
- Strong bias to action
