Field Service Technician – Mid-Atlantic Region

We’re currently hiring a Field Service Technician for the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., ideally based near Washington D.C. or Baltimore.
Your responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you will be the technical point of contact for DORC’s Phaco-Vitrectomy Systems. Your mission: ensure that our equipment performs flawlessly, and our customers feel confident using it.
You will:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Respond to 24/7 service calls as needed
- Install systems and provide technical onboarding for new customers
- Deliver expert in-service training for physicians and OR teams
- Offer on-site surgical support when required
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Coordinate technical escalations with internal teams
- Gather feedback from the field to support product development
- Collaborate with sales and equipment managers to provide seamless service
- Travel frequently throughout Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia
Your profile
You’re a hands-on technical expert with excellent people skills and a calm, professional demeanor — even in high-pressure clinical settings.
You bring:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in field service or technical support, preferably in medical devices
- Experience working in or around operating rooms
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- A customer-first attitude and proactive mindset
- The ability to train and support healthcare professionals with confidence
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) and be on call
- Residency in or near Washington D.C. or Baltimore preferred
